THE RE-BIRTH (MONEY TO BLOW)

I know it's been a while since i last posted sumfin on Tatafo Resource . . . **at least blame that on the daily stress and rapid change of my environment lol . . . blogging was more or less becoming a habit and at some point i had to drop that convention in other to focus on other stuffs . . after all, it's just me experimenting, mining and exploring different areas in search of that particular 'thing' that satisfies my inner intentions.

Anyways, quite a number of stories made the headlines in the past one/two month(s). . . from J-Lo's AMA fall (hehehe . . careful!)
to the world cup draws (Naija is in trouble . . . + Group G officially the group of death) and other stuffs i just don't feel like writing about for no reason at all *grins* but hey, most recently is the Big Brother Africa 4 Evolution Winner (Multi Millionaire Kevin). Come to think of it . . . $202,700.00 is nothing close to small oooooo. . . .that's approximately 30,810,400 Naira which is enough to get me the Chairmanship position in my local govt. come 2011 lol .

As much as i am proud of Kevin the Jostified fellow, i still wish i had that kinda sum to blow like a running nose *quoting Loso* . . but never the less, i just wrote a list of what I'll prob'ly do with $200,000 pending if/when i get it cashed.

**7 million naira for Autos . . . not too much though but enough to get me a 2009 Toyota Camry XLE with an Infinity Fx 45 *winks*

**10 million naira for stocks and shares . . . money trading . . not a bad idea

**Another 10 million would prob'ly erect a small comfortable house with classy finishes.

** The other 3 million naira is strictly for miscellaneous expenses . . . including gurls, parties, travelling .. . .. you know . . .that money to blow thingy like cash money milli

uhmmmmm. . . let me see how much i have got left? . . . Shit! . nufin. . Dayummm! . . money no longer holds it's value in Naija oooo . . Imagine, i just spent 30 Million like that even before getting it. May God help us lol. Well, i think I'm done with mine . . . so kindly let me how you're gonna spend yours . . remember. . 30 MILLION NAIRA !

Happy Yuletide!

CHITCHAT WITH SARAH OFILI

Hi ya’ll, I recently had a little convo with the Elegant, stunning, ever dazzling model and designer Sarah Ofili so I tried to make it official by using the opportunity to chip in a few questions. At first I was a bit cynical if she would grant my request but on the contrary, she turned out to be the nicest person I’ve ever bumped into. This was how the conversation went down;

Welcome to Tatafo Resource (TR) and it's such a great pleasure having you as the very first guest

Thank you, U're welcome.

Let’s get this out of the way, U are of mixed nationality, Nigerian and Hungarian. I'm I right?

Got that right (laughin). My Father, may his soul rest in peace, is from Asaba, Delta State. And my Mum is Hungarian.
I grew up in Nigeria, Warri actually, well not the centre of "waffi" lol. My dad worked in Delta Steel Company (D.S.C), so we lived in the company's estate, which also had our nursery and primary school, so u can imagine!

I read you studied in France, or you spoke French, how did that come about?

Yea, I speak just a little though, nothing major. After my sec. school in Nigeria, I went to an all girls boarding school in Benue State... yea I don't know what my folks were thinking, probably keeping me away from the preying eyes of guys, Lol. Anyway, immediately I was done with dat, I left to Badagry French village to study French, in preparation for my admission into a university in France, But before my admission came I was impatient and got into Uni.Jos to start off my course in Psychology, unfortunately 3months after I left for France. I got into the University Of Montpellier, to continue psychology, and then I packed my bags to London to pursue my dream in Fashion. Lol.

Interesting. . . So when did you start modeling and what was the very first step you took?

Modeling was something I bumped into, although it was my dream but at that time it was just a dream. I didn't go out searching for it, I came across a competition for a new modeling agency and photography studio, I entered for fun and viola ! the rest is history.

What are the major challenges you get to encounter

I encounter challenges every day, I am not your stereotypical tall skinny model. I don't have the "African look" neither do I have the "European look" so am always gonna be compared to the girls like that, and many times they don't know how to work with me. I have lost many jobs, that at a point I stopped going for castings. These last 2yrs I've just focused on working on my shoe brand and not so much modeling.

Oh! . . how have you been able to proportionately blend together being a super-model, psychologist, designer and a cosmetologist?

I don't really use the word "cosmetologist", but yes I am a certified beautician from the London School of Beauty And Make-Up. I love dabbling with the art of make-up, its such an artistic power to change the look of a person, like working on a blank canvas. Unfortunately, like psychology I put it aside, I got bored and updating your makeup kit isn't small money, trust me ! but it'll always be my side hobby.

Like I said, right now I’m just focusing on being a designer, developing my skills and expanding my creativity. All the other things I've put aside, in fact they don’t exist to me, it’s just a certificate nothing more, maybe a fall back plan, lol. This yr I was fortunate to get into the London College Of Fashion, to study Footwear and Accessory branding, to get more experience and knowledge in starting my own brand.

Tell me a little bit about your forthcoming brand 'Katona'?

Katona, Itself is my brand name that will hold many other ventures that will come after my first primary goal, which is the Lady's Footwear. I describe my designs/creations as "Fantasy Shoes" coz they are very glamourous, colourful, over the top, affordable high fashion platforms. I believe shoes should be attractive and sexy and appealing to the eyes. A bold statement shoe can change the whole look of an outfit, plus a shoe can make a woman feel a million bucks. shoe lovers knw wat I mean ;) winking... lol.

Ok, why the name Katona, why not Sarahs? lol

Nahhhh not Sarah's... hehehe.
Katona is my mother's maiden name, so it’s my Hungarian heritage. I named it after my mother coz all my creative ability and expressions came from her, my mum helped me with many of my art assignments as a child. I was fascinated by her ability to do it all, she even designed and sewed many of my outfits coz I wanted wat i saw in the magazines but there weren't styles like dat for kids so she'll be forced to sew them, lol, my poor mum, she had her hands full coz we are 3 girls. I cant begin to go into all she can do, artistically. I've answered my father’s name my whole life and one day another man's, so its only fair to dedicate something to my mum, after all she's the inspiration.

*Smiles* Being a public figure, how have you been able to 'cope' with the media, fans and haters lol

Wow! first of all, I don't really see myself as a "public figure", and am not trying to sound humble, but I'm a very private person, I just go about my daily stuff etc... I do appreciate the interest and likes in me but it doesn't affect me in anyway. I have read a couple of things written about me but I don't let it get to me, I just laugh and move on, after all I can’t explain myself to everyone, Lol... besides most of it is naija stuff, and I don't live in Nigeria, so it doesn't affect me at all !
I believe everyone should live their lives the best way they can and enjoy every min of it coz we've got only one life, do wat makes u happy, as long as it doesn't hurt someone else.

Your role models

To be honest, I don’t really have "role models". Especially in the kind of industry I'm in, I get inspired everyday by different people. I can’t begin to list, coz it'll be endless! Instead of looking up to someone as a role model, I look at myself and think of how I want to be seen, and the kind of person I am and how I want to be as I get older, and progress in life. No one is perfect after all!

In no particular order, please list your top 5 Nigerian Artists

Hmmm... this is hard, I love music a lot but I don't really have favs, maybe I'll just name naija songs am feeling right now, and u figure it out, okay...
I recently came across some dude called "Anogiri", hope I spelt it well, his song oyibo is a catch, love it! plus his dance moves are funny, lol.
Also, recently someone played an old school Igbo remake by Flavour ft Mc Loph "Osendi Owendi", think they're cool, in fact other songs by Flavour is very funny n refreshing, high time Igbo dudes took center stage, no offence to anyone !
Also, Sound Sultan, and of course Ikechukwu.

Foreign artists
Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Melanie Fiona, Keysha Cole, M. J and many more these are just from the top of my head now.

Most memorable moment?

Most memorable moment, Seeing the first samples of my shoe designs made, it was overwhelming.

Hmmm . . . . I can imagine the feeling lol so where do you see yourself in the next 10yrs?

10 yrs is a long time from now dear, I take each day at a time. What i can say though is, Katona will be more than just a shoe brand, and it’ll be an empire! ;D winks

Any parting words for Tatafo Resource?

Don't believe all u read and hear, it might just be another 'tatafo" hahaha, lol. just kiddin... Do something u enjoy doing and have true passion for, it'll bring more than success but happiness and satisfaction. Cheers!

It’s been a pleasure chatting with you, I enjoyed every bit of this. Wishing you the very best and a triple more success in your endeavours especially the impending Katona. Thanks for the time.

PLAYSTATION 4- FIRST LOOK !

The designer of the Playstation 4, Tai Chiem’s concept was to merge transparent materials and minimalistic aesthetics into the PS4 design element. The PS4 has not only had an aesthetic face lift, but its functionality has also had some upheaval!

The PS4 now has; bluetooth integration, plastic/glass backs and middles. LCD screen(s) on both the controller and the console. They’ve continued the classic aesthetic bone structure for the controller plus the PS4 console can also still be turned on it’s side.

Go through the photos below of the new Playstation 4 and tell a comment on what you think about the new concept.

BIGG SPLASH, GRUV ENUFF IS GOOD ENOUGH

Woke up this morning feeling so tired that i had to spend a couple of minutes consciously lying on my bed. I chilled for about 30mins and was busy listening to some newly shuffled mixtapes on my laptop (Modenine's-09-09-09, AfricanHipHop-The Sequel 09. . . ) Then I heard a ‘freestyle’ that kinda drew my attention. This particular track was from Bigg Splash’s Mixtape; EDO STATE HIP HOP LOVERS VOL. 1

I remember attending the album/mixtape launch in Benin some few months back with a good number of attendees including C-Flo, Cyrus Tha Virus, Osho Alpacino, Anec Dote and a few other artists. From the freestyle session to the album listening to other scheduled activities and it was right there I got a copy of the Mixtape (don’t ask if I bought it lol). Anyways, I noticed nearly all the tracks are ‘radio friendly’ and especially with the inclusion of the club hit ‘Amaka Why’ the mixtape is well balanced.

Enough said, below are two tracks off Gruv Enuff CEO, Bigg Splash (Otas Bazuaye)’s mixtape + Click here for free download

Track 04 'Freestyle'.

LADY GAGA'S GET UR FASH-ON PAPARAZZI

What's your pick on Lady Gaga's different outfits @ the VMAs?

A) Sexy
B) Weird
C) Crazy
D) That's Fashion
E) Innovative
F) Childish

BLAME IT ON THE HENNY. . .

The buzz is still on about Kanye's act at the Mtv video music awards, a lot of mixed reactions and hating already, sh!t names, racism, bleh! . . . but IMO, Kanye was a hundred % correct but somehow he just missed the timing. . . i mean he completely ruined a 19yrs old (Taylor Swift) supposed to be magic moments but really, "How come Beyonce's video was good enough to be Best Video of the year and apparently not good enough to be Best Female Video?".

Anyways, he is still a great producer, classy rapper with a very stylish delivery, i am not tryng to justify or either condemn his act but he should f_king stop crashing awards by whining on someone Else's behalf, it's so not cool for a star of his panache. I guess we forgive 'dude' and blame it on the Henny.

Go Kanye! No Kanye ! ! . . . . A whole Kanye ! ! !

Kanye West unabashedly drinking a bottle of Hennessy on the red carpet while girlfriend Amber Rose posed for photos - is this the cause of his outburst at the VMAs?

PSQUARE OUT WITH 'DANGER'

Being indisputably the most popular group in Africa and IMO the most consistent in Nigeria when it comes to making hits, the Okoyes are back with a new album titled 'Danger' which contains up to about 10 tracks and this time, they get to ft Tuface and Jay Martins. I still very much wonder why not even a single is currently on air but we sure should be expecting something overwhelming this time from the duo of Peter and Paul.

The last quarter of this year is sure gon' be a huge clash of the titans with Kel's album already out, modenine working on his album, Banky W's album, MI2 by M.I., Psquare's Danger. . . *sighs* what else can i say! "I nor fit shout jor" lmao

LETS TALK NIGERIAN MOVIES PART 1 ( A CRITICAL REVIEW. . . )

Nollywood for sure is still African's largest film industry in terms of quality/amount of films produced per month and the second largest in the world after Bollywood (beating Hollywood in the number of films produced annually) but the truth is most of the approximately 200 movies produced every month in Nigeria, makes very little or no sense. Personally, i would want to think the directors, producers as well as a few others are to be held responsible for the static growth of the film industry for limiting their production creativity and being quantity minded (not quality).

For crying out loud, how can you make a full length movie in just one week and expect to get the best? Our supposed movie stars are like the everyday TV presenter because you get to see them on your screen doing the same 'act' every time thereby reducing their esteem. Sometimes, one begins to wonder if there was ever a script for a particular movie due to the huge blunders which should have been corrected by the director/script writer or even the actors.

Take for example the sudden upswing of the music/entertainment industry (comedy inclusive), which was way below par back then even when compared to the movie industry. It experienced a huge revolution that made positive impacts and brought about the current high standard unlike Nollywood whereby the production team are no where close to being resourceful and still thinks inside "the old box". Why is it a normal issue to find up to 5 different movies with the same storyline . . the only differential aspect is the title and casts (please can someone tell me the duty of a movie board and copyright laws).

The most relevant movies in Nigeria presently are those made by the Yorubas (for the Yorubas), **less mistakes and the uniqueness of the message being passed across**. Just as much as i wouldn't want to assume but on a more crucial note i think the Ibos are the cause of the existing predicament of the industry which is mainly due to their lack of innovation (sticking to the old trends) and compromising standards just to get paid on time.

It's not as if i am hating or playing the role of a critic but don't we think it will be much better if the film makers try as much as possible to be more creative, more determined technically and should be able to explore other better options in other to yield an enhanced result?

10 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT NAIJA MOVIES

1. Every problem you have is spiritual.

2. Nearly anyone who gets hit by a car dies immediately after a very amateur and annoying reckless driving scene.

3. A movie can be titled anything no matter how dumb it may sound; Spanner, Face me I face you, Beyonce and Rihanna, The President must die, Last World cup, You can't kill me (lmao).

4. An Ibo movie has been made if: A fleet of cars is shown off at regular intervals for a total of half of the movie time, Kanayo 'O' Kanayo is in the movie,To get rich it is mandatory you join a cult.

5. In a case where a person is on his death bed, he/she must cough till they die.

6. One of a pair of twins (identical or not) is born evil.

7. Also The soundtrack gives you a big headache because it just narrates the whole story repeatedly (so much for suspense and intrigue!) lwkmd

8. When you are shot in the chest, it really doesn't matter; your head will be bandaged! Same for your legs! RFLMAO!

9. With a pastor all things are possible.

10. Watch out for part 2! lol

M.I. AT HIS VERY BEST (NEW ALBUM/AWARDS/GOSSIPS)

Just few months after the release of his debut album 'Talk About It' and the 'Illegal Music Mixtape', Jude Abaga aka MI (short black boy) is back in the studio working on his forth coming album which he intends to call MI2. Judo is without doubts the most successful and appealing Nigerian rapper with his lyrical prowess, album sales (30,000copies in 30minutes..Jeez!), world wide performances and awards. Talking of awards . . after winning 2 awards at this year's Hip Hop World Awards (Best new artist and best rap album), he has been nominated for the upcoming MTV AFRICA MUSIC AWARDS (Best New Act & Best Hip Hop) which is scheduled to be held in Nairobi Kenya on the 10th of October. Other MAMA nominees includes; Bigiano, Tuface, P-Square, Darey Art Alade, D-Banj and Kel.

Also learnt M.I. is planning to take the CEO position in his record label(Chocolate City). If true, then where will this leave Audu Maikori who is the supposed founder (M.I's Don Jazzy). Keep riping mics Jude and stay out of trouble lol wishing you the very best.

GIRL 18, BEHEADED FOR RITUALS BY BOYFRIEND

Got this link from a friend's facebook status and really felt like sharing it. "Girl 18, beheaded for rituals by boyfriend" now this is really bizarre . . I was beginning to think this whole idea of using human parts for money rituals is rapidly moving towards the direction of complete extinction until this story refreshed my memory!. . . . . . Read More and please drop your comment!

"The young man holding the head, Emeka Uwakwe, is the boy friend of this girl and he came all the way from Lagos and lured her to his house in the village. He murdered the girl, cut off her head for ritual purpose and dumped the headless body in a bush. Apparently, the girl had told her parents that she was going to visit her maternal uncle in another village.

Her parents made a call to her and the call was not pulling through up till the next morning and by Monday when it was obvious that she was not coming back, they made a report to the police that their daughter was missing. It was after they made the report to the police that some vigilante people on the same date, came around and said they saw a headless body in the bush. The police invited the girl’s parents and they identified the headless body to be that of their daughter."

A BETTER WAY TO START. . .

INTODUCTORY

Let me start by saying thank you for stopping by to probably review a post or two, TATAFO RESOURCE! is an online source for randomly posted articles, stories, gossips or information as the case may be.

Can't believe i spent over 72hrs flipping through different available templates just to get a suitable one with a very visible text style. It was almost getting boring and time consuming that i had to include feeds from the most interesting soccer league in the world right at the bottom of the page for rough updates since i figured out I'll definitely be spending more time blogging than watching TV.

Some of the stuffs i post and will be posting here may be recycled from somewhere else (who really cares cos i don't or do you?) but still it sure is going to be more of a 'ME' thingy than others so i guess I'm very much on track. You can as well leave a comment after reading through a post (don't be too greedy to 'share' your thoughts and opinions) and also do let me know If you find any of the posts dreary or very uninteresting with the right reasons so i can Del it.

Okies p'ple, way to go! you are all welcome on blog or board (wat eva) as we shall be cruising on a high altitude- Destination unknown- fasten your seat belt and enjoy the rest of 'our' journey. GRACIAS!
